490 Hosts All Crew Party 2017

IATSE Local 490 hosted the second annual All Crew Party on Feb. 25th 2017 at Acme Stage in Minneapolis, MN.

Hundreds of crew socialized late into the evening to celebrate a year of work. It was said by someone at the event that the crowd consisted of, "the past, present and future crew of Minnesota". This was very true, as many old timers who are not as active on shoots mixed with film students and busy freelancers.

The ska band "Umbrella Bed"  and DJ Underhill were the musical entertainment of the night. Fabulous catering cooked up a spread of roasted veggies, cheeses and Gerhard's Brats. The cash bar served local beer with wine provided in-kind by the Winebow group.

In a nod to Oscar weekend there was a red carpet and Pagoda pictures provided their photo booth in-kind and many of the attendees snapped party pics of themselves as the evening progressed.

Casket Cinema with graphic assistance from Channel Z Edit assembled a video showcase of some of the best work from 2016. The showcase looped over the course of the evening and provided much conversation and pride to see our work projected for all to see. One clip that was featured was from the film "Wilson". This movie is to be released in spring of 2017 and was a union films and shot recently in Minnesota.
